The Office of the University Registrar has developed its retention schedules in accordance with recommended guidelines from the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers (AACRAO), the University of Pittsburgh general retention schedule, other AAU accredited schools, and state and federal record mandates. In the Access/Retention Resources area are links to access the University of Pittsburgh’s general retention schedule and information on the University Archives, details on Pennsylvania’s official records management policies, and other related academic student records management links.
Disclosure of Student Academic Records: Academic record information is primarily released only to the student and student-authorized third parties requesting transcripts or enrollment/certification verification such as the National Student Clearinghouse or prospective employers. Please see the FERPA area of our website for details on student’s rights under FERPA, disclosure of educational records to parents or legal guardians, disclosure of directory information, and third party disclosures.
